FAES was founded in 1959 to provide educational services to the scientific community at the NIH through the establishment of the Graduate School. In 1984, the organization expanded its services and started offering a series of short-term, hands-on biotechnology training workshops. Today, FAES offers over 32 core BioTech workshops through an extensive selection of postgraduate-level lectures and hands-on laboratory trainings.  

We have an expansive catalog of bench-scientist-developed curricula.  Our workshops are team taught by active researchers from the National Institutes of Health, in addition to leading experts from academia and industry. Our short-term lab courses and management training for scientist classes will hone your skills and get you trained for your next job in research and/or industry.  Our programs are specifically designed for individuals in the biomedical, life sciences, and pharmaceutical fields.

All of our training classes are held at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland Campus — NIH Building 10 Medical Center.
