" New discoveries in epigenetics and stem cell biology are changing the way we think about preventing and curing diseases. Young and experienced investigators are focusing on these areas but are hampered by their unfamiliarity with the information and techniques needed to conduct their research. Rather than guess the missing pieces from papers on Methods, our workshops provide investigators with the opportunity to learn from the experts. A number of investigators have reported to us their deep appreciation for providing them with the tools and insight needed for them to carry out their studies. These success stories are the drivers for us to continue giving workshops and that include the most current information. "

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at Johns Hopkins University.  My research focus on delineating responses to environmental agents that modify DNA methylation in the brain, with specific focus on the glial lineage.
