FAES has invested more than $20M to build dedicated space for science and social activities at NIH

In addition to providing education, professional development, and health insurance services, FAES supports well-being at NIH with resources on and off campus that facilitate networking, teaching and learning, cultural, and community connections for the scientists, staff, patients, and visitors to the Bethesda campus. If you’re visiting NIH, or already working here, we invite you to take advantage of these FAES resources.

  • FAES Bookstore and Gift Shops: unique selection of science texts, gifts, and merchandise, with branded apparel, challenge coins, and youth gifts
  • FAES Education and Conference Suite: dedicated conference room with warming kitchen for meetings, classes, lectures, and events in Bldg. 10
  • FAES Social and Academic Center: located across the street from NIH and available for lab retreats, journal clubs, social gatherings, and parties
  • FAES Classrooms and Terrace: flexible room configurations for classes, meetings, and lectures in Bldg. 10; the FAES Terrace is an open area that supports a broad array of activities
  • FAES Teaching Lab*: new state-of-the-art training lab scheduled to open in Bldg. 10 in 2023
  • FAES Student Lounge*: dedicated space for intramural scholars to relax, recreate, and find room to connect in Bldg. 10
  • FAES Scholar Commons*: an off-campus asset within the new Academic Community where NIH trainees can connect with mentors, members of industry, intramural scholars, PIs, and other research fellows
