Speaker Bios


Debra Cancro is the CEO of VoiceVibes, Inc., which she founded in 2012 to help people be more effective communicators. She has 20 years of marketing and management experience at both startups and Fortune 500 companies. Her background includes product marketing for the Bluetooth and HDMI product lines at the Broadcom Corporation (BRCM) and corporate marketing at multiple high-tech startups — the last which got acquired for $242.5 million. Before her career in marketing, Ms. Cancro was a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Labs. She holds a patent on a method for detecting condescending speech.


Dr. Ethel Rubin leads a venture team that helps prepare and connect life science companies with capital, ensuring strategies that hit valuation inflection points, achieve strategic goals, and prepare for product launch. She has previously held corporate leadership roles in global clinical strategy and medical affairs at Medtronic, plc, was Chief Scientific Officer of BioFortis, Inc. (acquired by Quintiles-Quest JV) and CSA Medical, Inc., is President of life sciences business development advisory firm Innovative BioStrategies, LLC, and a venture partner at various funds. She has over 25 products in the marketplace garnering 9 figure sales revenue, was instrumental in multiple M&As, partnerships & collaborations, and advises hundreds of CEOs in preparation for private financing or partnering deals each year.

 

Ethel sits on the Board of Innara Health, Inc., has served on the Boards of tech incubators and numerous Business and Clinical Advisory Boards, as well as chairing committees for nationally acclaimed Women In Bio. A cancer researcher by training, Dr. Rubin earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry and fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
