Virtual Info Session: Academic Courses in Spring 2023

Learn about FAES academic courses in the Spring Term. Courses earn academic credit with transcripts provided. They are conducted asynchronously online over a period of 7 weeks; students access course material and complete assignments or tasks throughout the duration of the session. Session B courses are March 29 - May 16, 2023.

FAES Recognized with NEI Director's Award for Outreach to Diverse Scholars

Members of the FAES Academic Programs and Administrative teams received the NEI Director's Award on December 6, 2022 for participating in the "Successful Design and Execution of the Inaugural NEI Eye on the Future Campaign" held in July. 

National Symphony Orchestra at NIH December 15, 2022

Members of the National Symphony Orchestra will perform in the atrium of the NIH Clinical Center on December 15, 2022. Please join us for this special event in Bldg. 10. All COVID-19 protocols will apply, including well-fitted face coverings for musicians and concert attendees as well as social distancing during the performance.

Who We Are

The Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences, Inc. (FAES) is a nonprofit organization committed to lifelong learning and professional development. Located at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, FAES was created in 1959 to foster collaboration and community among scientists - allowing the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and access to the latest knowledge, tools, and techniques to move science forward.

Virtual Info Session: Academic Programs Jan. Intersession and Spring 2023

Learn about upcoming FAES academic courses in our 3-week online intersession January 11-31, 2023, and Spring Term Sessions A and B. FAES staff will answer questions about course delivery, timing, credit transfers, microcredentials, and scholarships available for tuition discounts. Courses cover a variety of topics that include cancer immunotherapy, data science, neuroscience, leadership strategies, AI, and English. All courses and workshops are open to members of the public, including NIH and non-NIH learners. There is no application fee or testing required to enroll.

Music in the CRC: UMD Jazz Combo December 14, 2022

University of Maryland Jazz Combo

A quintet of guitar, piano, bass, drums and percussion will perform Bossa Nova, Latin and Brazilian music as well as classic jazz pieces in the Atrium of Bldg. 10, the NIH Clinical Research Center. All COVID-19 protocols will apply, including well-fitted face coverings for musicians and concert attendees as well as social distancing during the performance.
